God’s word never promised us a perfect life. In fact, being born into this world is a guarantee that you will go through difficult times in your life.

With life comes stresses and struggles, along with beauty, hope, and joy.

When strong women are faced with stressful situations in life, be it a job loss, a divorce, struggles with finances, health, and other troubles, we are forced to look to our inner strength, as well as the support of our family and friends to overcome hurdles.

When we are going through challenges in life, positive words can become a powerful element that can help us heal, recover, inspire, and help us move forward.

When you are going through a specific situation, certain words of encouragement can give you the hope and relief you’re looking for.

In this article, I’ve outlined some of my favorite uplifting quotes and words of hope and healing to help you find the courage to overcome any difficult thing that comes against you.

The Power of Words

Before we begin, let’s discuss the very power of words and how it can affect us.

There’s a popular saying that goes: “Sticks and stones may break my bones but words can never hurt me.” Well, this popular quote is certainly not true in my experience.

It is completely false because most often, words can cut deeper than actual physical injury. While bruises and cuts may heal in weeks, hateful and hurtful words can stay with you forever.

A life can be completely changed with the power of words. A single phrase or even a few positive words can make a woman feel better and give her comfort in her most vulnerable moments.

Words have the power to create and destroy and that is why we must use the positive side of words to encourage, inspire, and help women heal in their lives.

Proverbs 16:24 states: “Pleasant words are like honeycomb, Sweetness to the soul and health to the bones.”

We can choose words to constructively uplift and comfort women since they have the energy and power to help and heal.

And so, let’s begin our collection of words of encouragement for women, for independent women, for women going through a divorce, going through cancer, and for those who have had a miscarriage.

Words of Encouragement for Independent Women

If you are an independent woman, this can mean that you feel like you don’t need a man, you don’t have a man to help you financially and emotionally, and you work hard for your career, your children, and for yourself.

Sometimes, it can be lonely being on your own, it can be hard, and it can be stressful having a lot of expectations from you.

Many people believe that just because you’re a successful woman, you have it all together. But just because you can take whatever life throws at you, doesn’t mean you have to.

You are a strong woman, courageous, and you can take life on your own, but still, there are times when you need a little encouragement from your loved ones, but also from yourself.

Words of Encouragement for Women with Cancer

When a woman is diagnosed with cancer, there is a light inside of her that is dimmed. If you are a mother, your role as a nurturer can disappear during this time, because you are the one that needs to be nurtured.

As a career woman, a cancer diagnosis can make you rethink the very things that are most important to you.

If you are a loved one of this beautiful woman, it can be hard to find the words to encourage this person to find happiness in life, and thus, some of these words are meant for you to say so you can provide some relief and comfort for your loved one who may be fighting this dreadful disease

When your life is threatened by cancer, it is important to turn to God, our source of spiritual strength, and find comfort in His words.

Divorce can be one of the most stressful events anyone has to go through. When a woman is facing divorce, there are a lot of things that go through her mind. What will happen to the house? The kids? And will I find love again?

Divorce is like losing a spouse to death – you grieve the loss of the person, the marriage, and the future you could have had together. But worse, you’re grieving the loss of a man who is still alive. You will look at yourself and ask what you did wrong? Why did you fail? And will you be happy again?

Words of Encouragement for Women Who Have Had a Miscarriage

Women are given the gift of motherhood when they grow a baby inside their womb. To create a human being and nurture this gift is an experience no man can ever understand. It is a kind of love that is inexplicable and it is a blessing to everyone.

Unfortunately, tragedy happens in a woman’s life and one of the greatest tragedies of all is a miscarriage or a loss of pregnancy.

The grief and sadness that come with it are overwhelming and it can lead to depression and isolation. No one else will be able to understand the pain other than the mother herself and sometimes, comfort is nowhere to be found.

However, there are Bible verses that bring comfort to mothers who have had a miscarriage and in God’s words, women can find relief that God is beside her, helping her through this ordeal.

Here are some words of encouragement from the Bible and other words to bring healing, peace, and comfort in your grief.

Lamentations 3:17-24 states:

“Peace has been stripped away and I have forgotten what prosperity is. I cry out, “My splendor is gone! Everything I had hoped for from the Lord is lost!”

The thought of my suffering and homelessness is bitter beyond words. I will never forget this awful time, as I grieve over my loss.

Yet I still dare to hope when I remember this: The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease.

Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning. I say to myself, “The Lord is my inheritance; therefore, I will hope in him!”

Lamentations 3:32-33 states:

“Though he brings grief, he will show compassion, so great is his unfailing love. For he does not willingly bring affliction or grief to anyone.”

Psalm 34:14 states:

The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

These Bible verses will help you understand that God has not left you, has not abandoned you when you need Him, and that He will bring comfort and healing in your heart.
